CBS has announced Willie Nelson’s 90th Birthday Celebration, a two-hour concert special honoring the career of the legendary Willie Nelson on Sunday, Dec. 17 (from 8:30-10:30 p.m. ET). It will also stream on Paramount+.
The music icon turned 90 on April 29.
Recorded live earlier this year across two nights at the famed Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, the special is hosted by Jennifer Garner, Chelsea Handler, Woody Harrelson, Ethan Hawke, Helen Mirren and Owen Wilson. And the artists performing (in addition to Willie Nelson) include Sheryl Crow, Gary Clark Jr., Snoop Dogg, Norah Jones, Beck, Miranda Lambert, Dave Matthews, Keith Richards, George Strait and Nelson’s sons Lukas and Micah.
“It is the sincere privilege of our lives to have produced these shows celebrating our beloved Willie, and to partner with CBS to bring this special to fans around the world,” said Mark Rothbaum and Keith Wortman, creators and executive producers of Willie Nelson’s 90th Birthday Celebration in a statement. “Viewers will now have the chance to sing, and laugh, and cry and experience the joy of this celebration like never before.”
The special is a production of Blackbird Presents.
