Cher Has Launched An Ice Cream Brand, Cherlato

News Room

Yes, you’ve read that right, Cher has launched an ice cream brand and called it Cherlato (of course).

In a mid-July Instagram post the iconic singer announced she would be launching an gelato brand, many fans and followers questioned its authenticity.

Still, with ice cream collaborations between Nikki Minaj and MYX Fusion, Gwyneth Paltrow and Ample Hills Creamery, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Salt & Straw, and Vanilla Ice’s very own Vanilla Ice Ice Cream popping up other the years, it’s not allllll that shocking, is it?

With an assurance that this venture is indeed real, the 77-year-old icon not only posted a video of a brightly-adorned ice cream truck plastered with her face in an ice cream cone, but set it to her infamous hit ‘Believe’.

“Yep, this is real… I’m launching my gelato,” Cher wrote in her Instagram caption. “Watch out LA! All started 5 years ago and now its finally HAPPENING!”

True to her word, the Cherlato ice cream truck has quietly begun traversing different Los Angeles neighborhoods over the last two weeks, updating customers on their whereabouts via the Cherlato Instagram page.

Cherlato’s menu promises a medley of imaginative flavors, too, with many a-flavor bearing Cher’s creative touch.

Among the noteworthy options are “Snap Out of It! Kefir and Cardamom,” “Breakfast at Cher’s Coffee & Donuts” (complete with a glazed donut), and “Chocolate XO Cher.”

But the culinary creativity doesn’t stop there. Cher and her Cherlato partner, Giapo Grazioli, recently unveiled a more unconventional choice called “SoCal’s Coldest Avocado on Toast” — an avant-garde offering meldinh creamy avocados with crunchy breadcrumbs, capturing the essence of California’s beloved breakfast item.

In fact, this labor of love is an international collaboration between Cher and beloved New Zealand-based ice cream company Giapo, for which Grazioli is head chef.

A subsequent post on the Cherlato Instagram elaborated on the journey: “A few years ago, Cher met Giapo and together, the pair brainstormed, taste-tested, experimented and eventually conceived Cherlato.”

Vegan patrons are not left out, either, with the “LA, I Love You” flavor, nodding to the Lakers’ purple and gold colorway. You can even add an edible gold cone to any creation for an extra $10.

Embarking on this new venture with a modest ice cream truck is a shrewd move for Cher, aligning with both her artistic sensibilities and the evolving dynamics of consumer engagement.

By starting small, the superstar is sure to create a strong connection with her fans, turning each encounter with Cherlato ice cream truck into a memorable and personal experience.

This approach allows for controlled expansion and experimentation, ensuring quality and consistency from the get go.

In my estimation, Cher’s decision to launch her ice cream brand on wheels embodies the essence of her legendary career—a harmonious blend of imagination, personality, and a genuine connection her audience.

And, as always, I can’t wait to see where she takes us next.
