  • McDonald’s popular international menus have attracted a big following among food bloggers.
  • The chain even offers a rotating global menu at the restaurant inside its Chicago headquarters.
  • But dozens of global foods don’t make it to the US. Here are some popular international foods.

A TikTok food vlogger who goes by the handle karissaeats generated millions of views describing her recent experience eating international foods at McDonald’s.

“These were better than some of the pizzas I’ve had here,” she said in her post, now viewed by 11.8 million people.

She also raved over two McFlurry concoctions — one mixed with dark chocolate and hazelnuts; the other mixed with chocolate-flavored Smarties.

Karissa’s European eating binge at McDonald’s restaurants underscores US travelers’ excitement when they visit the Golden Arches while traveling abroad. Many food blogs have pointed to these must-try global McDonald’s menu items that cater to locals in nearly 27,000 restaurants outside the US.

According to the Wall Street Journal, these local menu items make up about 30% of McDonald’s food sales.

The chain’s international menus have such a big following that McDonald’s created a rotating global menu in 2018. It is only available at the McDonald’s inside the chain’s headquarters in Chicago. Still, those items represent a fraction of the palate-pleasing fast food items found at McDonald’s restaurants worldwide.

Insider has compiled a list of some interesting cuisine from India, Australia, Japan, China, Hong Kong, and Switzerland.
