Mattel is hiring a “chief Uno player” who will be paid $277 an hour to promote a new game.

At four hours a day, four days a week across a four-week period, the New York City-based job would pay a total of $17,776.

Its main task is to promote Uno Quatro, a variation on the original card game which involves trying to match four-in-a-row using plastic tiles on a grid.

Mattel is searching for someone who’ll star in livestreams and play this new game with influencers.

They’ll also have to “be friendly and willing to ask strangers to play the game,” while teaching them in “an engaging way.”

That also means the candidate must be able to sit for long periods, lift and carry 50 pounds, and set up playing tables and tents on location.

All the Uno games will take place at Pier 17 in the Seaport neighborhood of New York. That’s only about 100 meters away from a pink-themed café set up to promote Mattel’s blockbuster film “Barbie.”

It’s not just the new Quatro game though, as the chief Uno player will also have to help create social content for “various Uno games.”

And that emphasis on social media is also seen in the fact that candidates have to apply for the job via TikTok. It involves filming yourself answering four simple questions, like your favorite reverse card moment – a move you can make when playing the Uno game.

Candidates have until August 10 to apply, with the role set to start on September 13.
