- Pictures of Elon Musk practicing martial arts were tweeted out on Tuesday.
- He had an hours-long “impromptu” training session with the podcaster Lex Fridman.
- It’s a sign that Musk is taking his potential fight against Mark Zuckerberg pretty seriously.
The first photos of Elon Musk preparing for his potential bout with Mark Zuckerberg were tweeted out Tuesday night.
Musk took part in an hours-long “impromptu” training session with Lex Fridman, the podcaster said.
The billionaire can be seen practicing a type of martial arts arm lock, forehead vein bulging as he restrains Fridman.
It certainly seems like a more effective move than “The Walrus,” which Musk previously described as his “great move” that involves simply lying on top of an opponent.

In another photo, Musk is practicing a takedown move by flipping Fridman onto the mat.
“I’m extremely impressed with his strength, power, and skill, on the feet and on the ground,” Fridman tweeted. “It was epic.”
Fridman — whose podcast often hosts anti-woke” figures — first got into Musk’s good books when he coauthored a controversially positive study of Tesla’s Autopilot while a researcher at MIT.
“I think the world is served far better if they train martial arts but not fight in the cage,” Fridman wrote on Twitter.
Either way, this is the first sign we’ve had that Musk is seriously preparing for this potential contest.
Zuckerberg has been showing off his shredded physique in recent months, including a grueling training regime that involves running two miles, doing 100 pull-ups, 200 push-ups, and 300 squats.
That, plus his previous training in martial arts, is why oddsmakers have made the 5-foot-7 Meta CEO favorite despite being shorter and weighing less than Musk.
Musk’s mom has tried to call off the fight, and his dad called it a “no-win situation for Elon” in an interview with The Sun, but these photos suggest the billionaire is still up to take on The Zuck.
