‘Escape From Tarkov’ Halloween Event Confirmed And It’s Coming Soon

News Room

The highly anticipated Escape From Tarkov Halloween event is expected to launch in the coming days after a teaser from Battlestate Games CEO Nikita Buyanov.

After previous successful events around Halloween time the community has been eagerly anticipating news of the 2023 Tarkov Halloween event, but with key members of the development team travelling for Gamescom, the Tokyo Games Show and TwitchCon there was some concern that this year there would be no event.

However, a tweet from Battlestate Games CEO Nikita Buyanov has effectively confirmed that a Halloween event is coming soon, and we just need to be patient. When replying to a fan asking about the Halloween event, Nikita told them to wait for it, suggesting that the event will be here sooner rather than later.

You may think that the smart money would be on the event launching on October 31, but that hasn’t always been the case in previous years, with last year’s event taking place on October 27.

Every year the event takes a different form, but there are usually some spooky goings on in the world of Tarkov. Last year Tagilla appeared on all maps with a scythe, cultists appeared everywhere and pumpkins with loot appeared around maps. But there were also some very annoying additions, including random negative effects for your PMC at the start of the raid, increased weapon malfunctions and some food and drink doing nothing. Then there were random events that would happen whenever a counter on the website hit 666,666.

You can probably expect something similar this time out, although, with a late start to the wipe, the team may choose to not buff bosses too much as fewer people will be equipped to deal with them. But be warned that if you do boot up Tarkov when the Halloween event is live you will need to be prepared for anything. In previous years random events have caught players out causing them to lose some great gear. It’s always a challenge, but maybe keep you best weapons in your stash until the event is over.

With Nikita’s tease and the wide range of release dates from previous years, you should be prepared for the event to drop anytime now. Until then, if you haven’t played in a while you might finally be able to run Streets of Tarkov thanks to the most recent update, although for some players it has made little difference.
