Looking for Thursday’s Strands hints, spangram and answers? You can find them here:
The week is finally drawing to an end, and the weekend stretches out before us with promise of respite and rest, relaxation and perhaps even redemption. Or retribution, if that’s your thing. Revenge? Reproach? Retrofitting? We can go on all day, but we probably ought to solve today’s Strands puzzle instead!
Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. One of these words is the spangram which crosses from one side of the grid to another and reveals even more about the day’s theme.
Spoilers ahead.

Today’s Strands Breakdown
Today’s theme—Dress for lunch—was really weird. It would be more appropriate if the words were RANCH and GREEK and CAESAR—rather than various SALADGREENS like KALE and ROMAINE. This was still pretty easy. I found KALE first and basically knew what the puzzle would be. Some words, like RADICCHIO, were hard to find until I’d filled in the rest, but this was definitely easier than some of this week’s Strands.
