‘Mecha Break’ Kicks Off Its ‘Global Storm’ Open Beta This February

News Room

It’s taken a while, but Mecha Break is finally getting into its stride, with an open beta for Xbox and PC starting later this month.

A new trailer (shown below) shows the new Mashmak Isles, which are the source of conflict due to the propagation Corite.

The mecha, in this case called Strikers, are dispatched to deal with the forces of Theia’s Vanguard that are threatening the survival of the planet. This new mode is also PvPvE, in case you were wondering.

This new Global Storm open beta also includes the opening tutorial and introduction, character and mecha customization, an explorable space station, all three core game modes, a training room, and thirteen distinct Strikers.

Further new updates in this beta include revised maps for the 6v6 Operation Verge and 3v3 Ace Arena game modes, a player reputation system, balance adjustments to various Strikers, combat finishing moves, and new customization options for pilots and mecha.

Overall, this new open beta has a lot going on, and I am excited to finally check it out. While I played the game at last year’s Tokyo Game Show, it was still very much a work in progress and had yet to undergo the various rounds of public beta testing.

I still feel the mecha design is very specific to Asia, but I hope it finds its legs in the West once this open beta starts on February 23. The open beta will also be playable on Xbox Series X|S and PC via Steam.
