In case you missed Monday’s NYT Mini, you can find the answers here:
Wondering what fish might be aptly “swimming through” a crossword’s circled letters? Not sure what a lesson from Aesop’s stories is? Don’t worry, because I’m here to help you with the answers for today’s NYT Mini crossword.
The NYT Mini is a quick and dirty version of the newspaper’s larger and long-running crossword. Most days, there are between three and five clues in each direction on a five by five grid, but the puzzles are sometimes larger, especially on Saturdays.
Unlike its larger sibling, the NYT Mini crossword is free to play on the New York Times website or NYT Games app. However, you’ll need an NYT Games subscription to access previous puzzles in the archives.
To help you avoid getting stuck and having to reveal missing letters, here are the NYT Mini Crossword answers for Tuesday, December 17 (spoilers lie ahead, of course):

It took me 2:47 to complete today’s NYT Mini.
Goodness, this was a slow solve for me! There were a few answers that could have gone a couple of ways. STY could have been PEN while I initially thought ODORS was SMELL or STINK.
There was no excuse for getting 4 Across so blatantly wrong for a long time, though. I thought it was FABLE, which didn’t make any sense. It was only when I finally got MOP that I saw where I went wrong. And I didn’t have a clue about SO DO I. That didn’t really fit the clue.
A bad day at the NYT Mini crossword office for me, but tomorrow’s a new day!
