Another day, another Strands puzzle to solve. It’s Sunday and I hope you’re having a lazy one. I’ve been trying to get my mojo and motivation back this weekend after a few days of somewhat exhausting insomnia, but what I’ve noticed is that after insomnia, a good night’s sleep can leave you feeling even more tired than before.
Ah well, this too shall pass. It’s time to tackle today’s Strands grid.
Strands is the newest game in the New York Times’ stable of puzzle games. It’s a fun twist on classic word search games. Every day we’re given a new theme and then tasked with uncovering all the words on the grid that fit that theme, including a spangram that spans two sides of the board. Let’s solve today’s, shall we?

Today’s Strands Breakdown
I was a little stumped at first today. I just couldn’t see any words, no matter how hard I looked, and then the words I could find made no sense and weren’t correct. It wasn’t until I finally spotted TIMES in the right corner that it clicked. From here I found GLOBE and noticed the ‘PER’ between the two words. Tracing that back, I found PAPER and finally the spangram, NEWSPAPER. Now everything came together quickly enough. JOURNAL and HERALD first, then CHRONICLE and finally TRIBUNE. Hooray for newspapers! I’m just a little surprised we didn’t get a POST, as in The Washington.
