Investing.com – India stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in NSE, the lost 0.62% to hit a new 1-month low, while the index fell 0.56%.

The best performers of the session on the were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (NS:), which rose 2.40% or 35.30 points to trade at 1,503.90 at the close. Meanwhile, Asian Paints Ltd. (NS:) added 1.04% or 33.70 points to end at 3,259.30 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (NS:) was up 1.04% or 74.05 points to 7,211.50 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (NS:), which fell 2.17% or 127.90 points to trade at 5,779.25 at the close. IndusInd Bank Ltd. (NS:) declined 1.94% or 27.65 points to end at 1,397.50 and Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (NS:) was down 1.92% or 15.75 points to 806.60.

The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Bajaj Finserv Ltd (BO:) which rose 2.36% to 1,503.80, Asian Paints Ltd. (BO:) which was up 1.04% to settle at 3,259.95 and Bajaj Finance Ltd (BO:) which gained 1.04% to close at 7,208.70.

The worst performers were Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories Ltd (BO:) which was down 2.11% to 5,778.50 in late trade, IndusInd Bank Ltd. (BO:) which lost 1.89% to settle at 1,397.80 and Larsen & Toubro Ltd (BO:) which was down 1.79% to 2,639.45 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the India National Stock Exchange by 1269 to 735 and 58 ended unchanged; on the Bombay Stock Exchange, 2039 fell and 1467 advanced, while 119 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of Nifty 50 options, was up 3.27% to 12.08 a new 1-month high.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.10% or 1.95 to $1,945.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.18% or 0.93 to hit $79.98 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.98 to trade at $84.34 a barrel.

USD/INR was up 0.10% to 82.66, while EUR/INR fell 0.03% to 89.25.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 104.04.
