It’s been 50 years since the world’s most popular dynamic mic was launched on the market. The Shure SM7 was unveiled in 1973 and it has endured with an incredible legacy that turned it into one of the best-loved professional broadcasting and voiceover microphones.

Over the years, the SM7 has evolved into the SM7B. It has become one of the most recognizable dynamic microphones on almost every podcast, especially those from North America. The SM7 line is now trusted by some of the most innovative entertainers, artists and creators.

“In the history of audio, very few microphones have delivered the sound of as many generations of entertainers and creatives as the SM7 family,” claims Eduardo Valdes, Associate Vice President of Global Marketing at Shure. “The fact the SM7B continues to be adopted by new creators, artists, and broadcasters is a testament to the Shure engineers who designed the microphones and all those who have relied on its pioneering audio quality.”

Shure is releasing a super limited edition of just 50 units of a numbered Signature Edition SM7B in a collector’s box set to celebrate its half-century. The box set will be available only through a giveaway in select regions.
